From dams in Cambodia to power plants in South Africa, these projects highlight China's long-term strategy of becoming a major financial and geopolitical power in almost every corner of the globe. The article also highlights how many of these projects come with "string attached," and the cost of investment for borrowers and Beijing can many times be quite high.
