This chart takes an interesting look at wealth in the United States. The first chart shows how the top 3% of earners hold 54% of the nation’s household wealth. The second chart shows that nearly 85% of all U.S. financial assets are owned by the top 10% of wealth holders. This data was from 2014, and it’s not surprising that we’ve seen the wealth gap widen in recent years as asset prices have appreciated significantly.
