In this month’s newsletter, we discuss year-end financial planning as well as the fear/greed index.
Celebrating 13 Years of Commitment
We hope this newsletter finds you and your family staying safe and enjoying the start of winter. If you are like our team, you probably aren’t seeing friends, family, and loves ones as much this year compared to years past — however, we hope you are finding ways to connect and celebrate the holidays during this challenging time.
On the topic of celebrations, November 21st, 2020, marked the 13th anniversary of Barry Investment Advisors as an independent wealth management firm. This milestone wouldn’t be possible without you, our valued clients. Thank you for the opportunity to be a trusted advisor during these challenging times.
Best Regards, The Barry Team

Why Emerging Market Value Stocks Could Be Worth a Closer Look
With markets at all-time highs, many investors are searching for underfollowed equities with high...
The fear and greed index tries to determine which of these two basic emotions is driving the stock market at any given time.
To estimate this, the index considers seven factors: stock price momentum, stock price strength, stock price breadth (volume), option pricing, junk bond demand, market volatility, and demand for safe-haven assets (like U.S. Treasuries).
The last time we shared this chart was in April of 2020, when the index was sitting at just eight — signaling an extraordinary level of fear in the marketplace. Today, the index sits at 86, pointing to extreme greed in the marketplace. As we have said in the past, greed-driven markets can signal that a near-term correction is due and that extra prudence is warranted.
