In this month’s newsletter, we review 2020 and cover US Corporate Debt
We hope this newsletter finds you and your family staying safe and enjoying the start of the new year.
In this month’s podcast, Joe Barry sits down to discuss the financial markets in 2020. Specifically, he covers the financial and economic “firsts” that we saw this year: the expanded use of negative interest rates, frantic buying of electric vehicle stocks, and never-before-seen participation in the options market, to name a few things.
As always, please reach out to the Barry team if you have any questions.
This chart shows US corporate debt (the red line) and the yield on that debt (the white line) since 1990. Today, US corporations are issuing an unprecedented volume of debt, likely the result of the COVID-19 pandemic in tandem with a historically low interest rate environment.
We’ll be watching corporate debt ratios closely as we start the new year.
