Why Are Central Banks Stocking Up On Gold?
Since the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic, gold has massively underperformed relative to other...
During the Covid-19 pandemic, the real estate market surged around the world. And with it, rental prices sky rocketed. This chart shows the prolific climb in rental rates during the last four years and the more recent trend. The good news for renters: year-over-year growth in rental rates has returned to near zero. The bad news: rental rates are still well above 2019 levels. Discretionary spending is a key component of U.S. GDP, and charts like these are important for understanding the broader macroeconomic environment.
Employee Highlight
Kate Alves
Starting this month, we thought we would change things up a bit and highlight a Barry team member so that all of you can become more familiar with the team and maybe learn something about that person that you didn't know.
To kick it off, we will start with Kate Alves!
Kate has been working with Joe Barry for over THIRTY years. Kate's time at Barry is the ultimate success story. She started with Joe as an Administrative Assistant in 1992 and shortly after that, became a trader. Kate then obtained her CFP® license and became a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ and is now a Financial Advisor and President of the firm. Kate's energy is uncanny, and she is a true motivator for the team. She leads the team using many of the lessons that she learned back in her (State Championship!) softball and field hockey days. Specifically, that individual achievement is critical to success but as a team, you need to put the team's interests above your own. Her focus on bringing the team together as a cohesive unit to serve our clients to the best of our ability is of utmost importance.
Not only is Kate a great team leader, but she is also a Bourbon Connoisseur! She can tell you pretty much anything you want to know about bourbon and is about to learn even more, as she and her family plan to spend a week touring different bourbon distilleries in Kentucky this summer.
Thanks for all that you do for Barry, Kate!
