Mark Zuckerberg, along with countless U.S. corporations, promised a future where the Metaverse would be a part of everything we do. Now, after a short life, hundreds of layoffs, and tens of billions of dollars spent, the Metaverse seems to have been laid to rest in the “tech graveyard.” As Wall Street’s attention shifts to generative AI, we can’t help but wonder what’s a fad and what’s the future.
