In the Western world, we take the Internet, apps, and online connectivity for granted. But the reality is that only about half of the world's population is online - and the vast majority of those without internet access are in the developing world. This short video from The Economist explores the growth of the Internet globally, what challenges exist in "monetizing" new users, and what this all means for the Internet that we know today.
