The war in Ukraine shows no signs of slowing down, Russian natural gas exports to Europe have slowed, and winter is just around the corner. Considering these factors, it would seem inevitable that natural gas prices would skyrocket in Europe, and yet the opposite is happening. Natural gas prices are tumbling, down more than 70% from the record high prices in August. This New York Times article examines the cause of lower gas prices—and whether these conditions can last.
