America’s enthusiasm for passenger rail cooled significantly after cars and highways caught the country’s eye. Now, the U.S. lags behind many other developed nations in terms of rail investment and ridership, though that may be about to change. The federal government’s infrastructure bill set aside billions of dollars for building out passenger rail systems across the country–and manufacturers are jumping at the chance to rebuild the American rail system.
