CHART OF THE MONTH

Source: YCharts

Gold miners have outperformed the S&P 500 by nearly 58% so far year-to-date, yet they may still be undervalued. The profitability of gold miners is closely tied to gold prices, which tend to rise faster than production costs. Despite the recent surge in gold prices, gold mining stocks may still have room to catch up. According to Bank of America, as of the end of 2024, 75% of financial advisors had little to no exposure to gold (less than 1% of assets allocated to the sector).

INVESTING WISDOM

“What's a spooked investor to do? Warren Buffett has some simple advice: Think for the long term, and above all, don't panic. As he wrote in his 2017 letter to Berkshire Hathaway shareholders, "an unsettled mind will not make good decisions.”
